Bookkeeping Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this newly created position will primarily focus on the accounts payable and accounts receivable function of the finance team whilst providing administrative support to the broader financial department when required.
The position is being offered as permanent Part Time position with 24-30 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work from our head office in Applecross.
Key Responsibilities
* Weekly payroll for 35 employees
* End to end management of all accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
* Monitoring of debtors and following up payment of overdue accounts
* Monitoring of daily bank balances and completing bank reconciliations
* Prepare and submit applications for trade accounts with suppliers
* Create and maintain client accounts within our accounting software
* Working with the financial controller to maintain positive cashflow & ensure compliance with supplier account payment terms
* Answer all incoming accounts correspondence, and direct to the appropriate team member if required
* Management of company vehicle fleet
Skills Profile
* A minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience as a bookkeeper in a fast-paced environment ideally within the construction industry
* Advanced understanding, application, and use of XERO Accounting Software
* Intermediate knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Excel and Word
* Experience in liaising with suppliers, clients, and external stakeholders in a professional manner
* Ability to identify, resolve and manage discrepancies in both debtor and creditor accounts accurately and diligently
* Autonomously understand, interpret, and prioritize tasks given by senior management, and be able to action these with limited supervision
* Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
* Possess a 'Can Do' attitude and be willing to contribute and uphold the progressive and positive work culture we have developed within our team
* Qualifications in Bookkeeping, Payroll or similar discipline will be highly regarded but not essential (Certificate IV minimum)
