This role provides essential support to the Aviation Infrastructure and Technology function within the Aviation Services Unit at DEECA, contributing directly to the safe, compliant and coordinated operation of Victoria's emergency aviation network. The position assists in the delivery and ongoing management of aviation infrastructure across the state, including sites supporting the LAT program, which require specialised facilities, readiness standards and operational oversight.
This role supports the planning, coordination and implementation of infrastructure and maintenance activities to ensure airbases remain functional, safe and operationally ready. Key responsibilities include assisting with project planning and sequencing, supporting procurement and documentation, and monitoring asset performance and condition data. The position also contributes to consistent governance by maintaining records, supporting reporting processes, and ensuring infrastructure works align with CASA, Worksafe and departmental requirements.
Through these functions, the role strengthens ASU's ability to provide statewide aviation support by ensuring infrastructure programs are well-coordinated, risks are identified early, and operational needs are met ahead of peak emergency periods. The position underpins airbase readiness for fixed-wing, rotary-wing and LAT operations and supports Victoria's capability to respond effectively to emergency incidents and land management.
