Job Description
We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced 8T Forklift Operator to join our steel fabrication facility in Corio.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe loading and unloading of steel components, including long and oversized materials up to 18 metres in length, and play a critical role in supporting production and dispatch teams to ensure efficient material movement within our workshop and yard.
Key Responsibilities
Operate 8-tonne forklifts safely and efficiently to move heavy steel components
Load and unload trucks with materials up to 18 metres in length
Liaise with production and dispatch teams to meet daily scheduling and delivery requirements
Conduct pre-start checks and ensure machinery is maintained to safety standards
Assist with general yard duties and other logistics tasks as required
Qualifications
Current forklift (LF) licence with demonstrated 8T experience
Minimum 2 years of experience operating large forklifts in a steel, logistics, or industrial environment
Ability to interpret load plans and basic workshop documentation
Strong understanding of load security, spatial movement, and safe operation practices
Excellent communication and basic numeracy skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
