About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a great opportunity for a Support Systems Engineer to join our Combat Systems & Integration Function based in Adelaide, Melbourne, or Sydney, reporting to the Support System Lead.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
You will be responsible for working with other members of the Support System Team, under the direction of and in support of the Support System Lead. You will also collaborate with other project design engineers (software, hardware, mechanical, etc.) to ensure a systems-oriented, integrated approach to project engineering development and verification activities.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Undertake engineering activities within your competence without day-to-day guidance or supervision, including liaising with customers and suppliers as appropriate.
2. Make engineering decisions within your scope of responsibility and delegated authority.
3. Provide help and guidance to less experienced team members.
4. Manage your own elements of the engineering work package.
5. Contribute to team planning, risk management, product safety, quality, and Safety, Health & Environment (SHE).
6. Set targets for and manage your own development with your line manager.
7. Share good practices and knowledge to continuously improve your practices, and contribute to relevant BAE Systems Australia engineering communities of interest.
About YOU
* Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
* Defense security clearance or eligibility to obtain NV1 clearance.
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering or a relevant field is desirable.
* Prior Systems Engineering experience is advantageous.
