Test Analyst Role
The Australian Electoral Commission is seeking a Test Analyst to join their team. As a key member of the Agile delivery or project team, you will be responsible for writing test plans and strategies, executing test cases, and producing test reports.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a range of ICT projects and programs, transforming business capabilities and replacing core election ICT systems with a citizen-centric, agile technology platform.
You will work closely with development teams to understand the scope of product releases and develop acceptance criteria based on business objectives, functional requirements, and service level requirements.
The ideal candidate will have experience in test processes, including preparation, execution, and reporting. Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Test Manager and Azure DevOps is also required.
As a Test Analyst, you will be part of a positive team culture and will engage and collaborate internally with other key IT areas, project teams, business areas, and external service providers.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing test plans, test scenarios, and/or test scripts for specific releases.
* Undertaking testing activities, including functional, integration, and regression testing for each release cycle.
* Reporting and tracking the resolution of issues as they are found in testing.
* Liaising with vendors, AEC's business areas, and IT Branch staff as required.
Essential Criteria:
1. Experience in test processes, including preparation, execution, and reporting.
2. Proficiency using tools such as Microsoft Test Manager and Azure DevOps.
3. Communication skills to be part of a positive team culture.
4. Ability to engage and collaborate internally with other key IT areas, project teams, business areas, and external service providers.
5. Ability to work independently and be a self-motivated individual.
6. Strong conceptual, analytical, and interpretive skills with high level of attention to details.
7. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
8. Proven experience of working in an Agile team.
Desirable Criteria:
1. Tertiary qualifications or industry recognised certification in Information Management or Computer Science (or a relevant discipline).
2. SQL querying ability.
3. Automation skills.
4. Strong programming knowledge.
