Company LogoOverviewThe Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating multiple types of powered construction equipment such as excavators and bulldozers of all sizes, off road trucks, rubber tire loaders, backhoes, hoe rams, end dumps, compactors, or skid steers and to excavate, move, and grade materials, erect structures, or assist with concrete pours and demolition of other hard surface pavement in a safe and efficient manner.ResponsibilitiesObserve and comply with all company and specific site safety and project policiesSupply input to Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and frequent improvements or changes to Job Safety Analysis Plan (JSAP)Perform daily pre-inspection and on-going maintenance checks while operating equipmentOperate heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner to minimize the risk of injury, property damage, or loss of life according to all relevant policies and proceduresExcavate, move, and grade earth/aggregate or mix ingredients according to site specifications and within limitations of equipment in a safe and productive manner as determined by site construction conditionsAchieve acceptable rough grade finish in all types of soils and conditionsConstant inspection and surveillance of surroundings before and during operation to ensure safe ground or slope conditions exist, as well as adequate distance observed for other equipment or personnelCommunicate professionally and respectfully with others by all means possible (visual or radio contact) including interpreting hand signals to determine where materials are to be placed or loadedWork independently and conduct tasks with limited supervisionMay assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and work pieces during installationResponsible for care and custody of equipment being operated, including daily cleaning and maintenanceReport all equipment maintenance issues to superintendentPerform other miscellaneous duties as assignedPay attention to surrounding and monitor changes in site conditionsFollow directions and learn from senior operators and superintendentsQualificationsKnowledgeable in OSHA regulations regarding excavation methods and practicesMay require the ability to read survey stakes for alignment and gradingPerform duties of equipment operator while using different levels of PPE, which may include respiratory equipmentPerform duties of equipment operator while working in all safe outdoor weather conditionsAble to read and properly interpret load charts for associated heavy equipment and manufacturer approved attachmentsRequired to pass skills test prior to operating heavy equipmentAble to understand and demonstrate limitations of equipmentReliably show up on time for work five to seven days a week as requiredHave access to reliable transportationAbility to travel over extended periods of time on short noticeAbility to read, write, and understand math and EnglishEducation/ExperienceEquipment operating experience (Field verification of operator experience)Additional InformationSalary Range: $17.00 - $20.00 / hrActual salary will be based on a variety of factors including relevant internal and external experience, knowledge, skills, scope of job, geographical location or other factors permitted by lawBenefits:401(k) + matchingHealth, Dental, Vision insuranceLife insurancePaid time off (PTO)Holiday PayRecon is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
