ABOUT THE ROLE:
Ready to step into a leadership role where your planning expertise can shape a thriving and sustainable future? As Coordinator Statutory Planning at Bass Coast Shire Council, you'll lead a dedicated team delivering a customer-focused statutory planning service in one of Victoria's most dynamic coastal regions.
In this position, you'll drive land use and development outcomes aligned with the Bass Coast Planning Scheme, contribute to key Council projects, and represent Council at VCAT and other forums.
You'll also:
* Lead a high-performing team committed to service excellence
* Assess and report on planning permits and associated applications
* Prepare professional submissions and technical reports
* Promote collaboration across teams and with community stakeholders
* Champion innovation and best practice in planning systems and communication

A BIT ABOUT YOU:
You're a confident and experienced planner, capable of leading a team while keeping a strong customer service lens. You thrive in a dynamic environment and can translate complex planning frameworks into clear, actionable outcomes for the community.
You'll bring:
* Strong working knowledge of the Planning and Environment Act and relevant legislation
* Experience in statutory planning assessment and VCAT representation
* A collaborative, solutions-focused mindset
* The ability to manage projects, communicate effectively and inspire your team
* A genuine commitment to innovation, sustainability and community outcomes
