Overview
We are seeking an experienced Investment & Commercial Lead to drive the origination, structuring and delivery of large-scale social infrastructure programs across Australia. The organisation has a significant national pipeline and is continuing to scale its investment and delivery capability. This is a senior, hands-on role responsible for leading complex programs end-to-end, from investment origination and transaction execution through to delivery and operational handover. You will work closely with government stakeholders, development partners, lenders and advisers to ensure programs are commercially sound, well governed and aligned with long-term operational and community outcomes. The role requires strong commercial judgement, comfort managing cross-functional workstreams and a genuine interest in delivering infrastructure that creates durable social value.
Key Responsibilities
Lead social infrastructure programs across origination, transaction execution and delivery.
Coordinate cross-functional workstreams including commercial, development, finance, operations and governance.
Structure and negotiate transactions that balance financial performance, risk and impact objectives.
Act as the primary commercial interface with government, funding partners, developers and external advisers.
Lead negotiations on key commercial terms and transaction documentation.
Manage internal governance processes and prepare recommendations for senior leadership and boards.
Oversee program financial management, budgeting, reporting and compliance obligations.
Establish and maintain reporting frameworks covering progress, performance and risk management.
Support the identification of new program opportunities and long-term strategic partnerships.
Ensure effective mobilisation of projects into operations and steady-state delivery.
Contribute to building capability across the commercial and investment function.
Experience & Capabilities
Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in investment, commercial, development, government or infrastructure-related roles.
Proven experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder programs or transactions.
Strong commercial, financial and structuring capability.
Highly effective stakeholder manager across public and private sector environments.
Comfortable operating independently in a fast-moving, growth-oriented organisation.
Strong judgement, problem-solving ability and approach to risk management.
Tertiary qualifications in finance, economics, property, law or a related discipline preferred.
Interest in social infrastructure, public-private partnerships or impact-focused investment.
