We work at the forefront of managing risk for a dynamic business that operates in a complex and changing regulatory environment. As part of the Compliance function, you will help to safeguard the firm's business by balancing risk and regulatory requirements. Our Compliance team works across all business and is a critical part of Barrenjoey's risk and control organisation.

About the Job

The position will report to the Head of Regulatory & Central Compliance and will work with Compliance colleagues who provide independent oversight to Barrenjoey's businesses and infrastructure functions.

* You will be part of a team that supports ongoing engagement with key regulators in Australia and overseas locations and help manage compliance frameworks to ensure we meet our regulatory requirements.
* You will be involved in overseeing regulatory licensing and registrations for Barrenjoey and its employees and undertaking periodic reviews to maintain compliance related processes.
* You will assist in monitoring regulatory developments and where required, designing and implementing arrangements to meet new requirements including through policies, procedures, training and control processes.
* You will assist in overseeing the Firm's arrangements to meet conflicts of interest and perform periodic reviews to assess effectiveness.
* You will prepare reports for the Firm's governance committees and maintain the Firm's compliance systems.
* You will be encouraged to identify opportunities to deploy process changes, system enhancements, business productivity and efficiency tools (e.g. artificial intelligence).

About You

* You will be degree qualified and have 2 – 3 years of relevant experience. Experience in data analytics and data visualisation tools will be an advantage.
* We're interested in people with diverse experiences and transferrable skills, including those with a background in Compliance, Legal, Risk, Audit, or other control related areas.
* You will need to have strong attention to detail, project management and problem-solving skills and be able to see the big picture.
* We're looking for independent, analytical thinkers who are proactive, self-motivated and can quickly adapt to new situations.
* You will be able to communicate with people effectively and provide advice to our stakeholders. Having strong business ethics and integrity when dealing with confidential and sensitive information is also an essential quality.
