Community Relations and Events Coordinator
The Glennie School, located in Toowoomba, Queensland, is an Anglican day and boarding school for girls from Kindergarten to Year 12 with boarding for students from Year 5. About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Community Relations and Events Coordinator in a full-time capacity. Critical to the role will be engaging with the Glennie School community and other key stakeholders to communicate with them and coordinate events. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communication, you will be responsible for implementing our action plans on community engagement, fundraising, and event coordination.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive annual events calendar aligned with the School's strategic goals and community engagement objectives.
Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of key events, including but not limited to Open Days, the Glennie Fair, Boarding Country Connections and a range of formal and informal school events.
Provide guidance to staff on branding and marketing activities.
Coordinate alumni and community communications.
Build relationships with the Glennie community.
Serve as liaison between the Glennie School Foundation and the P & F Association.
About you
The successful candidate will have a passion for building collaborative relationships and be a strong communicator. You will have:
An Event Management Diploma or equivalent experience in events roles.
Minimum of five years experience in a community relations role and demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and execute multiple events simultaneously, with varying scales and complexities.
Capacity to bring fresh ideas and innovative approaches to event design and execution.
Well-developed skills for developing detailed timelines, checklists and action plans, and meticulously managing all logistical elements.
Proven ability to develop, manage and adhere to event budgets, including tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Knowledge of approaches to managing records and database management, with accurate data entry skills.
Strong collaborative spirit, working seamlessly with various departments, individuals and external stakeholders across the School in order to foster a positive and productive environment.
