The Australian Government is seeking an independent statutory officer to serve as the Inspector-General of Animal Welfare and Live Animal Exports (IGAWLAE). 
About the role: 
Lead independent reviews of live export regulation and associated animal welfare requirements. 
Increase accountability and transparency of compliance with legislation and standards and promote continual improvement. 
Represent the office with credibility and independence. 
About you: 
Experience in veterinary science, regulation, livestock production and exports, or similar disciplines. 
Solid understanding of animal welfare and export regulation. 
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
