Allied Health Assistant, Brain Injury Rehabilitation

About The Role

Are you a qualified allied health assistant, undergraduate allied health student or interested in working to achieve Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistant seeking casual employment? As an Allied Health Assistant (AHA) with the South West Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service, you’ll play a meaningful role in supporting people with brain injury as they work toward their goals—both in our Transitional Living Unit and out in the community.

South West Brain Injury Rehabilitation provides multidisciplinary rehabilitation to people with acquired brain injury across MLHD. AHAs work directly with clients in the Transitional Living Unit and in the community supporting them to achieve their goals under the guidance of occupational therapists, speech pathologists, physiotherapists, social workers, neuropsychologists and clinical psychologists. AHA also provide administration leave cover.

The Transitional Living Unit operates alternate weeks Monday to Thursday. The TLU is a house in Lavington that accommodates up to four clients. AHAs are rostered morning, evening and night shifts. The evening and night shift staff are required to work in isolation and be responsible for the health and safety of the clients in the TLU overnight.

Employment Type: Casual opportunities available

Position Classification: Allied Health Assistant - Level 1-3

Remuneration: $31.86 - $36.02 per hour (+ super + casual loading)

Our Ideal Candidate Will Demonstrate

Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or other relevant qualification (Aged Care; Disability) OR commitment to complete Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance within 3 yearsUnderstanding of the impact of acquired brain injury on individuals, their families and significant others.Ability to be flexible, show initiative and respond quickly to challenging situations.
