**About the role**
As a result of the growth across the business at Coles there is an opportunity to join the Procurement team in a Category Manager - Supply Chain role. You will be responsible for Supply Chain and supporting Goods-Not-for-Resale requirements across all three integral Coles businesses; Supermarkets, Liquor and Coles Express. The role will include sourcing, award, contracting and ongoing supplier relationship management.
Reporting to the Senior Category Manager you will be responsible for developing and implementing commodity and supplier strategies across the Supply Chain. Please note, this is a 12 month fixed-term contract.
You'll also:
- Support the establishment of the category vision and procurement plan
- Set and communicate the strategic direction and develop and execute category plans that produce the desired business results aligned with category vision
- Achieve or exceed annual efficiency and project budget targets, achieved through effective commercial management of suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Remain current with market trends through relationships with suppliers and market experts to identify and communicate recent technologies and solutions to support categories managed
- Support risk mitigation in supplier engagements
About you and your skills
- We're after someone with proven experience in Category Management and/or broader procurement, with strong commercial exposure in supply chain or special projects, ideally within other large enterprises.
- You'll also need
- Solid technical understanding across categories including Service & Technology contracts and Equipment purchases
- Deep value chain management knowledge including the ability to look for value beyond savings via efficiency and quality benefits
- Research and networking skills to ensure Coles is at the forefront of industry leading practices, tools and strategic trends
- Related tertiary qualification, ideally within Procurement and Supply Chain, Law, IT, or Engineering
