Job Description:
School psychologists play a crucial role in promoting student learning outcomes and well-being within educational settings. This position requires an individual with exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team, and high-level written and oral communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents to provide effective support and guidance.
* Contribute to the development of whole-school wellbeing programs that promote resilience, mental health, and academic success.
* Provide tailored strategies to manage academic pressure and maintain wellbeing for students of all year levels.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Hold or be eligible for provisional or general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment.
* Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before commencing employment.
* Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department's Screening Unit prior to commencement.
Selective Criteria:
* Demonstrated ability to implement school psychology services and programs to maximize student learning outcomes.
* Demonstrated knowledge of psychological approaches suitable for individual, group, and system-level intervention.
* Demonstrated high-level written and oral communication skills, including report writing and case management.
* Demonstrated interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
* Demonstrated analytical and conceptual skills to identify issues, assess risk, and develop interventions.
