Registered Nurse RN1/2 - Acute Care of the Elderly (Multiple Positions)

Part time, Full time, Permanent, Casual/Temporary

* Northern Adelaide Local Health Network – Lyell McEwin Hospital – Elizabeth Vale
* Salary: $74,831 - $102,103 per annum (RN1) / $87,416 - $110,497 per annum (RN2C), plus Superannuation and Salary Sacrifice benefits
* RN1/RN2C – Ongoing and Temporary Full-time/Part-time – multiple ongoing and contract lengths up to January 2027

The Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) Unit is a dynamic, short-stay service providing comprehensive geriatric assessment and specialist clinical care for patients with geriatric syndromes requiring acute admission. Our goal? To stabilise, optimise, and seamlessly transition patients to post-acute and out-of-hospital services.

You'll work alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team including senior nurses, Geriatricians, advanced trainees, trainee medical officers, and allied health professionals—all supported by dedicated administration staff. We have multiple ongoing and temporary positions available, to be appointed on either a full-time or part-time basis.

About the Role:

Working within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network, you'll provide specialised nursing care to patients with complex medical needs.

Within your role in the ACE Unit, you will:

* Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualised care plans
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including doctors, allied health professionals, and social workers
* Support patients and families through the healthcare journey
* Mentor junior staff and contribute to quality improvement initiatives

Our Clinical Nurse (RN2C) positions offer the perfect blend of advanced clinical practice and leadership development. You'll mentor junior staff while taking on specialised portfolio responsibilities tailored to your career aspirations. For Registered Nurses (RN1), develop from novice to proficient practitioner in a supportive environment focused on your professional growth.

To be eligible for this position, you must have current registration, or be eligible for registration, as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold (or be eligible to hold) a current practising certificate.

Our Local Health Network Sites and Services:

Lyell McEwin Hospital – The major hospital in the north and north‑east for emergency care, complex and multi‑day surgery, medicine, obstetrics, paediatrics and outpatient services.

Modbury Hospital – A general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub‑acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.

Mental Health – The Division of Mental Health provides a comprehensive range of public mental health services for youth, adults and older people in northern Adelaide. Services are provided through community health centres and hospitals, and to consumers in their own homes.

Forensic Mental Health – A statewide service that operates as part of the Division of Mental Health for forensic patients and prisoners.

Community Sites – Elizabeth GP Plus, Modbury GP Plus and Gilles Plains GP Plus Super Clinics providing community based care.
