The Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) Unit is a dynamic, short-stay service providing comprehensive geriatric assessment and specialist clinical care for patients with geriatric syndromes requiring acute admission. Our goal? To stabilise, optimise, and seamlessly transition patients to post-acute and out-of-hospital services.
You'll work alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team including senior nurses, Geriatricians, advanced trainees, trainee medical officers, and allied health professionals—all supported by dedicated administration staff. We have multiple ongoing and temporary positions available, to be appointed on either a full-time or part-time basis.
About the Role:
Working within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network, you'll provide specialised nursing care to patients with complex medical needs.
Within your role in the ACE Unit, you will:
* Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualised care plans
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including doctors, allied health professionals, and social workers
* Support patients and families through the healthcare journey
* Mentor junior staff and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
Our Clinical Nurse (RN2C) positions offer the perfect blend of advanced clinical practice and leadership development. To be eligible for this position, you must have current registration, or be eligible for registration, as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold (or be eligible to hold) a current practising certificate.
