Job Description
Are you passionate about authentic Malaysian and Hong Kong-style cuisine? Hong Kei is a local favorite in Willetton, known for our signature BBQ pork, wonton noodles, and aromatic curry laksa. We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Cook to join our busy kitchen team and help us continue serving the high-quality, flavorful dishes our customers love.
Responsibilities
* Wok & BBQ Mastery: Prepare and cook a variety of Malaysian Chinese dishes, including our signature BBQ meats, stir-fries, and noodle soups.
* Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food presentation and consistency during fast-paced service.
* Food Safety: Ensure the kitchen operates under strict hygiene and safety regulations (HACCP).
* Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring stock levels, minimizing waste, and ordering fresh ingredients.
* Team Collaboration: Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure a smooth dining experience for our customers.
What We're Looking For
* Experience: at least 12 months experience as a Cook in an Asian/Malaysian restaurant environment (specifically with wok cooking and roast meats).
* Skills: Strong knife skills and the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, "hawker-style" kitchen.
* Reliability: A team player who is dependable, especially during busy weekend shifts.
* Passion: A genuine love for authentic flavors and traditional preparation methods.
