The Global Retail Brands, Australia's premier specialty kitchenware and homewares retailer, is seeking a dynamic
Merchandise Planner
to join our MyHouse and House Bed & Bath team. This newly created role reports to the Head of Planning and plays a critical role in optimising merchandise strategies, ensuring product availability, and maximising sales and profitability across our 270+ stores nationwide.
About the Role:
The
Merchandise Planner
will develop and execute forward-looking merchandise plans, forecast demand, manage inventory, enhance margin performance, and drive promotional and campaign initiatives in collaboration with Marketing, Buying, and Logistics teams. The role requires a combination of strategic foresight, analytical expertise, and hands-on execution.
Key responsibilities of the role will include but are not limited to:
Merchandise Planning & Forecasting
– Develop and implement planning strategies to maximise sales, inventory turnover, and profitability.
Inventory Management
– Ensure accurate stock forecasting and replenishment for digital channels, minimising stockouts and over-stock situations.
Sales & Margin Optimisation
– Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and adjust strategies to enhance revenue growth and margin performance.
Promotional & Campaign Planning
– Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional campaigns, ensuring stock availability and alignment with sales objectives.
Cross-functional Collaboration
– Work closely with Buying, Marketing, and Logistics teams to ensure seamless execution of online merchandising strategies.
Systems & Process Improvement
– Evaluate and improve merchandise planning systems and workflows, driving automation and efficiency.
About you:
Proven experience in
merchandise planning
ideally within a fast-paced retail environment.
Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to develop and execute financial and merchandise plans.
Advanced proficiency in
Excel
and other merchandise planning tools.
Exceptional stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
Experience leading and developing team members to drive performance and results.
Highly adaptable and proactive, thriving in a fast-moving and evolving digital retail space.
