Position Overview
The powers of tech and bookkeeping combine to make: A Cloud Accountant! If this combo sounds like you and you're a Xero fan girl or boy like us, you'll be managing a set of clients and tasks on a day to day basis ensuring data files are kept up to date, and clients are happy with their service. You'll take direction from the accounting team to make sure this machine stays well oiled.
Your Role
* Set up and provide training on Xero files and receipt system for clients
* Reconciliation of Xero files
* Manage hours spent on bookkeeping clients compared to fixed fee charge and manage scope creep
* Manage and track weekly utilisation (Workflow Capacity Spreadsheet)
* Identify clients that contribute to >15% increase on engagement fees / recognising out of scope work and ensuring it is quoted and billed to clients and report to directors
* Work with Admin Team where required to provide additional support to Accountants
* Continuous training on the development of new apps in order to assist clients with training and integration to Xero
* Liaising with client for transactional queries to ensure Xero file up to date
* Making suggestions to Accounting team where client is not providing information in the correct / most efficient manner
* Keep up to date with updates and changes to wage criteria in different Awards for all clients
* Ensure superannuation is reported on time and maintain contact and follow up with clients to make super payments
* Provide SGC statements where necessary. Requirement of all clients if super not paid on time.
* Be responsible for running own individual work/job report
* Proactively make suggestions on improved client systems and processes
* Manage and track weekly utilisation (Workflow Capacity Spreadsheet)
* If under-utilised, proactively communicate with manager for more work
* If over-utilised, proactively communicate with managers to assess client work
* Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
* Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed
