The Job Role: Staff Specialist
About the Role
As a Staff Specialist in Chemical Pathology, you will provide high-quality diagnostic, consultative, procedural and on-call specialty services.
Key Accountabilities
* Provide expert medical care and advice to patients, clinicians and other healthcare professionals
* Contribute to teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities commensurate with the Staff Specialists (State) Award
* Ensure a high standard of professional performance
Selection Criteria
Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is essential.
* Obtained Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in Chemical Pathology, and/or other specialist recognition as provided under the Staff Specialists (State) Award
* Demonstrated commitment to basic, applied or clinical research and/or medical education and staff training
* Proven ability to work effectively as a team member with effective communication and interpersonal skills
Additional Information
This is a Category A position. All applicants must read and understand policy directive PD****_015 Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination against specified diseases.
Applicants must also comply with the requirements outlined in this policy prior to appointment. A Working with Children Check (WWCC) issued by the Office of the Children's Guardian is required for this role.
