At Litton Andrews, we are currently seeking experienced
Medical Secretaries
to join a busy ENT clinic for a long-term temporary assignment. This role will support both adult and paediatric patients, and prior experience in a private specialist practice is essential.
This full-time, temporary position offers competitive hourly rates, paid weekly, and is ideal for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced medical environment. The role is based at Westmead Private Hospital and involves working Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. The position is set to start immediately and is expected to run for 2 months.
Key duties and responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
* Coordinate and manage patient consultation clinics for two ENT Surgeons, including new referrals, follow-up appointments, and schedule changes or cancellations
* Process patient billing and receipting accurately following consultations
* Manage all incoming and outgoing correspondence via phone and email in a professional and timely manner
* Prepare theatre quotes and provide clear information to patients to obtain informed consent
* Book and manage theatre procedures using Xestro software
* Provide general administrative support as required by the Surgeons to ensure smooth day-to-day practice operations
To be closely considered for Temp and/or Contract roles with Litton Andrews, you will have:
* Minimum of 12 months' experience working within a private specialist medical practice
* Sound knowledge of medical and billing software, including at least one of the following: Genie, Gentu, BlueChip, Shexie, HealthTrack, Clinic to Cloud or Xestro
* Strong computer proficiency with a working knowledge of the MS Office Suite
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* General understanding of medical terminology, with a strong awareness of patient privacy and confidentiality requirements
* Highly developed organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
* Flexible and adaptable approach to work, demonstrating enthusiasm and resilience in fast-paced or changing practice environments
* Working knowledge of Medicare, DVA, WorkCover and Private Health Fund billing processes (highly regarded)
* For medical transcription temporary roles, a minimum typing speed of 80 wpm is required, in addition to prior private specialist practice experience
