About You

Our Business Services Officer, HR and IT Support position is ideal for a proactive, organised, and motivated individual who enjoys working in a dynamic office environment and contributing to a collaborative team. You will join our Business Services Team and share responsibilities across a range of areas, including administration, project support, HR, and basic IT tasks. This includes responding to incoming requests from the consulting team and clients, assisting with project setup and updates, supporting financial processes, managing assets and office resources, preparing HR documents, assisting with onboarding and offboarding staff, and providing basic IT support.

This is a part-time role (0.6–0.8 FTE) with flexibility in how hours are spread across 3–5 days per week, with Friday attendance required to provide essential team coverage. This role requires someone who can quickly learn and adapt to a broad range of tasks within a dynamic workload and a geographically diverse team. We are seeking a dependable, self-motivated team member who works well within a team and can also work autonomously, contributing positively to the smooth running of the office.

The Business Services Team is an essential part of the company providing administrative and IT support for consultants.

Role Responsibilities

Business Services / Administration

* Respond to incoming requests and communications from internal and external stakeholders.

* Assist with project setup, updates, and general administrative support for project teams.

* Support financial processes, including invoicing, account reconciliation, and tracking project-related expenses.

* Maintain records of company assets and resources, including updating, reallocating, and retiring items as needed.

* Contribute to the management and upkeep of office facilities and equipment.

* Take minutes during meetings and assist with documentation and reporting.

* Coordinate internal and external training sessions, company events, and team activities.

* Support fleet management and travel arrangements for staff.

* Reconcile Xero bank feeds and update project statuses in MS Teams.

* Reconcile company credit cards.

HR Support

* Assist with onboarding and induction of new employees, including sending forms, scheduling and running inductions.

* Support offboarding processes by preparing and managing required documentation.

* Prepare and maintain HR documents such as contracts, letters, and forms using templates.

* Collect and manage employee and contractor documentation.

* Support work experience and volunteer programs by coordinating necessary paperwork, inductions, and safety briefings.

Desirable / IT Support

* Provide basic IT support during onboarding and offboarding, including account setup and access to company systems.

* Assist IT team with routine tasks such as equipment setup, software updates, and asset management.

Skills & Experience

* 2–4 years' experience in administration, office support, or business services.

* Proficient in Microsoft 365, Xero, MS Teams, MS Excel and other Windows based office platforms.

* Strong organisational, time management, and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

* Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Experience or interest in HR administration, including onboarding, document preparation, and induction support.

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

* Desirable: basic IT skills and willingness to assist with routine IT tasks, such as account setup, laptop configuration, and software updates.
