What You Need To Know...

* permanent full time - 76 hours per fortnight
* the package: $64,142 to $76,491 plus superannuation per annum
* location: Grafton, NSW
* access to fitness passport
* 9 day fortnight

About The Role
We are seeking a motivated, fair and community-minded Parking and Public Spaces Officer to join our Public Spaces Compliance Team. In this frontline role, you will help ensure public spaces are safe, accessible and enjoyable for all by monitoring activities on public land, enforcing parking and public space regulations, and effectively engaging with the community to promote responsible use of public spaces.

This position plays a key role in protecting public amenity, supporting public safety and access, and ensuring that activities on parks and reserves, road reserves, beaches, public car parks and other shared spaces align with legislative requirements and Council policies. If you are someone who is organised, effectively and personably communicates with a variety of people, remains calm under pressure, and is motivated to uphold fairness and integrity for community and environmental benefit, we want to hear from you.

To be considered for this position you will need to:

Describe the situation and context, how did you manage yourself and the situation to ensure it remained safe and professional, what was the outcome, and what did you learn from the experience?

Q2. Describe a situation where you were required to interpret rules, legislation or policy to make a decision.

Outline the situation, what steps you took to ensure your decision was fair, reasonable and defensible?

Q3. Tell us how you have managed competing priorities or work autonomously to complete tasks using specific example/s.

How did you organise these tasks to ensure effective and timely outcomes?

Other Important Information
This position is located at Council's Grafton office, however, this may change should business needs identify other work locations to be more appropriate to deliver our services in the future.

A probation period applies to this position.
