The Bureau's Data and Digital group (DDG) is responsible for the ICT systems the Bureau relies on to provide trusted, reliable and responsive weather, water, climate, ocean and space weather services for Australia - all day, every day.
The Service and Infrastructure Management program (SIM) is responsible for Service Management, Service Operations, Infrastructure, Networks, High Performance Computing, End User Services, and Service Delivery. The program manages a significant portion of the Bureau's budget and has a vital role in ensuring the ongoing stability and operations of all IT assets essential for the delivery of Bureau capability.
We are seeking a suitably qualified person to carry out the duties of the Business Manager for the SIM program. As the successful candidate you will work closely with the SIM leadership team helping drive quality, communication, and assurance across the team. You will possess solid organisational and communication skills. You will govern, manage and assist a range of functions across the program including procurement & contract management, recruitment, and communication.
You will be able to multitask and display a high level of accuracy, attention to detail and initiative. You are a team player who builds and maintains productive relationships across a range of stakeholders. The successful candidate will be required to manage the support and development activities aligned to the approved Policy, Process and Procedures to ensure management of risk. This position also requires the ability to liaise between many different levels of the organisation across varied technical and non-technical domains.

The key duties of the position include
The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
1. Partnering with the DDG's business partners within the Enterprise Services Group and working closely with the SIM leadership team to provide end to end support, coordination and facilitation across various functions including reporting, budgeting, financial analysis, procurement, recruitment, contract management and other business development activities as required.
2. Providing high-level support to the SIM Leadership Team as a priority, including assisting in the preparation of briefs and reporting on the Program's activities with a focus on measuring key performance indicators, risk management and governance.
3. Planning, coordinating and supporting strategic activities with the DDG's internal and external stakeholders where required.
4. Actively supporting the implementation and application of Bureau policies, processes, procedures and frameworks across the Program.
5. Bringing a continuous improvement mindset to the Program's operations including investigating and identifying best practices approaches and offering strategic recommendations to support Program activities.
6. Complying with all Bureau work, health and safety policies and procedures, and taking reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of employees, contractors and visitors who may be affected by your conduct.
