Your part in our Buderim Hospital team
In this pivotal leadership role, you will be the direct line manager to a team of After-Hours Nurse Managers and the Casual Pool Nursing Workforce, delivering service excellence and providing support for quality, improvement, staff development and risk management across all hospital departments. You'll be responsible for the movement of patients through the hospital and for ensuring safe and efficient patient care.
You will:
* Work in collaboration with the hospital leadership team to coordinate patient flow, ensuring efficient allocation of patients to beds in line with our bed management and access strategy.
* Work to achieve optimal patient outcomes and exceptional patient satisfaction
* Facilitate and manage effective communication across the hospital and with key stakeholders, including consultation with pre-admission office, Clinical Nurse Managers, Clinical Liaison Nurse and VMO's.
* Collaborate with your peers day-to-day to ensure the provision of a coordinated nursing service, allowing for a highly functional service that supports excellent bed management and patient flow.
* Recruit to ensure adequate staffing, maintaining a flexible workforce to support patient occupancy, ensuring budget and performance indicators are managed effectively.
* Lead the team to contribute to the hospital's strategic plan, develop actions plans and formulate policy and procedure as required.
* Contribute to the hospital's Quality Improvement Program by recommending and overseeing improvement projects and assisting with audit activities as required.
* Promote the importance of maintaining the dignity of the patient and patient confidentiality.
* Respond to emergencies, as required.
What makes a difference for us?
As an experienced nursing clinician, you will showcase a working knowledge of contemporary nursing practices, being actively across current and emerging healthcare service delivery trends. With strong communication skills, you'll be confident facilitating communication within a large organisation, effectively collaborating with stakeholders to manage and negotiate outcomes.
* Bachelor of Nursing / current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
* Demonstrate extensive experience in a leadership role or senior role within a patient flow specialty with the skills and the ability to manage and support an after-hours team.
* Financial acumen and the demonstrated ability to manage resources within budget.
* Knowledge of legislation, Acts and Regulations relevant to healthcare service delivery. Knowledge of or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of corporate policies and procedures, Risk, Safety & Quality, HR, Emergency Response, Financial Acumen
* Proficiency with the MS Suite of products and the use of internal systems, eg Cerner, Kronos and Trendcare is desirable
* Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with hospitals infection control requirements
