The Opportunity
Monash University is seeking a Research Fellow (Immunology) to join the Department of Immunology within the School of Translational Medicine, based at the Alfred campus.
This role will contribute to cutting‐edge research in the Allergy and Humoral Immunity and Immune Memory Labs, supporting projects focused on understanding immune responses and improving the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
As a postdoctoral researcher, you will design and conduct experiments, analyse complex data, and contribute to high quality research outputs including publications and presentations. You will also collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and support the broader research program within the Department.
About The Role
* Designing, conducting and analysing immunology research experiments
* Contributing to publications, conference papers and research outputs
* Supporting and collaborating on research projects across laboratory teams
* Operating advanced laboratory equipment and experimental techniques
* Assisting with supervision of students and junior researchers
* Participating in research meetings, seminars and collaborative activities
* Supervising students and technical staff in laboratory practices and data analysis
* Remaining current with progress in the field and incorporate that knowledge into the research programme
* Contributing to limited teaching and research support activities
About You
* A doctoral qualification in immunology or a closely related discipline
* A developing track record of research publications
* Strong analytical, problem‐solving and experimental design skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in research teams
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
Desirable
* Experience with small animal models
* Expertise with small animal analgesia, and surgery experience
* Experience with high dimensional or spectral flow cytometry
* RNAseq, scRNAseq, or scATACseq analysis competence
