Description
We are looking for a talented Facilities Technician to join our high performing team in Carole Park, QLD.
In this role, you will assist the service department by managing and maintaining tooling, consumables, tool calibration, support and maintenance of branch equipment, and contractor safety management.
You Will Make An Impact In The Following Ways
Facility management, compliance and maintenance
Conduct monthly inspections (e.g., ladders, stairways, walkways) and record findings.
Maintain shop 5S standards, including organization and preventive maintenance.
Coordinate environmental compliance, including tank farm maintenance, water quality, drain management, and reactive actions like oil leak management.
Review and analyze the service department’s budget and expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Manage consumables inventory and procurement.
Organize maintenance for mobile and fixed plant machinery, including cranes and truck hoists.
Manage local projects and improvement initiatives, such as installing a new washbay.
Support audit coordination and logistics during visits.
Contractor management
Review SWMS and safety documentation.
Manage permit reviews (e.g., working at heights).
Conduct contractor safety check-ins.
Tool maintenance and calibration
Physically calibrate tools, including torque wrenches and multimeters.
Complete calibration certificates and upload data via Indysoft.
Potentially undertake external training for calibration certifications.
Responsibilities
To succeed, you should have:
Mechanical trade qualification as a Heavy or Light Vehicle Mechanic (Australian standards).
Experience with repairs and maintenance of diesel engines, power generation, trucks, construction, or agriculture (desirable but not essential).
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Team-oriented attitude and adherence to company policies.
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental policies and legislation, with incident reporting experience.
