Key Responsibilities
* Review and evaluate fire safety and life safety plans for new and existing buildings.
* Ensure compliance with applicable fire safety codes, regulations, and standards.
* Conduct fire safety inspections and risk assessments.
* Provide recommendations for corrective actions and safety improvements.
* Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and building owners regarding fire safety requirements.
* Verify installation and maintenance of fire protection systems such as alarms, sprinklers, and emergency exits.
* Prepare technical reports and compliance documentation.
* Support fire safety certification and permitting processes.
* Provide fire safety guidance during construction and occupancy stages.
* Assist in emergency preparedness planning and evacuation procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Confirmed registration as an Accredited Practitioner (Fire Safety) (APFS) is mandatory.
* Background in fire protection engineering, architecture, building engineering, or related field preferred.
* Strong knowledge of fire safety codes, building regulations, and safety standards.
* Experience in fire safety design review, inspection, or compliance assessment.
* Ability to read and interpret building and fire safety plans.
* Strong analytical and reporting skills.
* Good communication and coordination abilities.
* Proficiency in technical documentation and compliance reporting.
Preferred Skills
* Experience in construction or engineering projects.
* Familiarity with fire protection system design, testing, and commissioning.
* Strong problem-solving and risk assessment capability.
Work includes office-based plan reviews and on-site inspections at construction sites and occupied buildings.
