Primary objective

Identify and evaluate emerging patterns and trends in public order, crime and organised criminal activity and provide

intelligence products in line with subsequent strategic, tactical and operational needs of Territory Intelligence.

Context statement

The advertised position is responsible for preparing complex and multi-faceted operational and strategic intelligence

products. The suitable applicant will have tertiary qualifications relevant to intelligence analysis and strategic report writing.

Work experience must include evidence of the production of operational and strategic documents on multi-faceted and

complex issues. Suitable work experience will not include simply having previously been employed in law enforcement and

possessing an understanding of intelligence principles.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Preparation of tactical, operational and strategic intelligence reports.

2. Provide briefings on intelligence findings, including to police management and partner agencies.

3. Liaison with intelligence personnel from Northern Territory Police and partner agencies.

4. Provide intelligence support to major operations and investigations as required.

5. To be interoperable with the intelligence resource requirements of the Territory Intelligence Division as required.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Relevant tertiary qualifications.

2. Experience in the role of an Intelligence Officer or Analyst within a law enforcement or similar environment.

3. Experience in conducting briefings and presentations, including a high level of computer literacy skills.

4. Willingness and ability to obtain a national security clearance to Negative Vetting 1 level (NV1).

5. An ability to work extended hours when required.

Desirable

1. Police Intelligence Officers' Course or a similar nationally accredited Intelligence course.

1. The successful applicant must consent to a check by Police of criminal records and intelligence data to confirm they have

no significant criminal history recorded. Information on the eligibility requirements to obtain a NV1 clearance can be

1. Work history will be deemed as current and relevant if the work has been undertaken within the last 5 years, preferably

for a minimum of 2 years.
