McArthur is seeking an Accounts Payable/Receivable Officer to deliver high-quality services to our Local Government client. This a part-time opportunity working Thursday & Friday (12.5 hours per week), and is in a fantastic location in central Hobart, and a short walking distance from the Dock.
The opportunity is immediately available, until November 2026. The casual hourly rate for this role is set at $45.34 per hour, plus Superannuation.
To be considered for this position, you must have the ability to obtain a clear National Police Check, and proof of valid working rights.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide excellent customer service support to the business and external customers, effectively managing customer queries on accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the City's purchasing card program.
* Check, data enter and process financial transactions including purchasing card, accounts payable and receivable and adjustments.
* Maintain financial databases and position regular procedures, including the preparation of work instructions.
* Undertake credit management including assessing credit applications, monitoring credit limits and recommending debtors for cash terms.
* Process payments, raise invoices and statements and undertake sundry debt management and collection in line with Council Policy.
* Complete accounts payable and accounts receivable related reconciliations.
Selection Criteria:
* Demonstrated ability and understanding to manage end-to-end accounts payable and receivable processes.
* Previous experience in the use of the NAVision finance system and proficient in the use of technology products generally.
* Demonstrated verbal and written communication and engagement skills with an ability to negotiate, persuade, influence effectively and diplomatically and to build and develop collaborative, respectful and influential working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
* Well-developed time management skills coupled with an ability to manage simultaneous tasks in a complex challenging environment with competing demands and multiple deadlines.
