Barwon Health is the major regional health provider for the Barwon South West region. It is one of Victoria’s largest regional health services with one of the busiest hospitals in the state, University Hospital. About the role
Barwon Health is currently seeking a Mental Health Promotion Officer to use contemporary mental health promotion practice to plan, implement and evaluate primary prevention initiatives that contribute to improved health outcomes in the community.
To be successful in this role you will possess the following skills:
4. Sound knowledge and experience in mental health: including relevant legislation, MHDAS service response system and consumer led service practices and philosophy
5. Demonstrated understanding and application to practice of the social determinants of health in a health promotion context including mental health promotion principles
6. High level capability in developing, implementing and evaluating complex health promotion initiatives
7. Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and to meet specified timeframes
8. Ability to work as a part of an interdisciplinary team as well as act independently and autonomously
9. Sound interpersonal and communication skills
10. Demonstrated ability to liaise and work collaboratively with external agencies
