Youth Officer (Casual) Pool
$49.65 per hour (inclusive of casual loading)
PACS Band 5 under the City of Kwinana's structured remuneration system.
Responsibilities
The City of Kwinana is seeking enthusiastic Casual Youth Officers to join the Community Services and Partnership team at the Zone Youth Space. Reporting to the Senior Team Leader – Youth, this role supports the planning, delivery, and evaluation of programs for young people aged 12 to 24 years. These programs aim to enhance social connection, build knowledge and skills, strengthen resilience and wellbeing, and encourage active participation within the local community.
This role involves engaging, motivating, and supervising young people during daily drop‐in sessions and scheduled programs at the Zone Youth Space, as well as through community‐based activities and outings. The position works collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to build positive relationships that support improved outcomes for young people. Ordinary hours of work for this position shall be worked up to within a ten (10)‐hour spread between commencement and completion on any shift Monday to Sunday. Days of work may be subject to change due to operational requirements.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in youth program planning, development and delivery, youth centre drop‐in supervision, or a similar role.
* Sound working knowledge of youth issues, youth work practices, and youth and community development principles.
* Sound analytical, report writing, data collection, and computer literacy skills.
* Well‐developed interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
* Proven ability to work effectively independently.
* Tertiary qualification in youth work or similar, or significant experience in a related field.
