We are looking for a motivated, team-oriented story teller to join our HSBC Australia Communications team as Communications Manager. Within a flat structure, you will be working with HSBC Australia's senior leaders including its CEO and business heads across external and internal communications.
In this role you will drive content creation across all of HSBC Australia's businesses and functions, you will have a sharp focus on digital, multimedia and social media content and play a key role in building out and executing our communications campaigns both internally and externally.
We're looking for someone with a knack for news and a good understanding of the types of messages, communications and content that lands with our target audiences. The Communications Manager will be eager to generate impactful and commercial content for employees, media and social media.

**Responsibilities**:
- Create content - for media, social media and internally with our employees - that resonates with HSBC's key themes and commercial objectives in Australia
- Execute Global campaigns in Australia
- Support with our media relations activities: help with media targets, build media relationships, train our spokespeople and create media stories, briefs and speeches for our executives
- Deliver internal content, campaigns, and news to our HSBC Australia employees
- Support and execute events, whether they are internal for our executives, external for the media - both virtually and in-person as part of our leadership communications efforts
- Support with media and reputational issues
- Create, develop, and execute campaigns and activities including press releases, media interview briefs for spokespeople, social media content, infographics and other multimedia, videos, as well as write compelling internal news stories
- Identify ways to bring stories and data to life in a way that will resonate with the audience ensuing alignment to our priorities in Australia.
Requirements
**Requirements**:
- Experience working in the financial services industry is an advantage
- Knowledge and experience working in the financial services industry is an advantage
- Exceptional content skills: storytelling, proven ability to produce clear, engaging written content and an ability to creatively create visual/animated/multimedia and social media content
- Experience working in corporate communications, media relations, PR, employee communications or content roles at an agency or in-house is a must
- Proven ability to deal with ambiguity, a matrixed organisation and high-pressure situations with deadlines is essential
- Experience with Australian journalists/media is an advantage, including dealing with crises, supporting with proactive media relations activity, and social media management is a plus
- Strong presentation and communication skills are a must
- The ability to influence, negotiate and face of to senior stakeholders is advantageous
- Knowledge of the Australian media landscape and financial services industry a plus
- A sharp focus on operating as one-team, with a can-do attitude and eagerness to learn and contribute is of the utmost importance
- Having digital, multimedia, social and video skills will put you in good stead.
