This is a senior, full-time opportunity to lead ICT operations within a national organisation that delivers advanced systems and technology solutions to the defence sector. Based in Canberra, the role oversees service desk and infrastructure support functions across multiple sites, managing a hybrid Microsoft environment (M365, Azure, Intune, Azure AD) supporting end-users based both nationally and overseas.
As the ICT Operations Manager, you'll provide day-to-day leadership across Level 1–3 support, network, and infrastructure teams, ensuring stability, performance, and security across core systems and services. You'll also contribute to key initiatives aimed at greater automation, process maturity, and cloud migration.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage BAU operations, team performance, and ICT service delivery across a 400-user organisation.
* Oversee service desk, infrastructure, and network staff across multiple Canberra sites.
* Ensure compliance with ACSC Essential 8 and DISP standards.
* Collaborate with the wider ICT leadership team (Cyber, Architecture, Governance).
* Drive documentation, knowledge sharing, and continual service improvement initiatives.
* Lead CAB/change processes, DR/BCP compliance, and stakeholder engagement.
Ideal Candidate:
* Recent experience leading ICT operations teams in hybrid enterprise environments.
* Strong technical knowledge across Microsoft cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
* ITIL certification and hands-on experience managing ITSM processes.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
* Analytical and structured approach to performance reporting, incident handling, and improvement.

* Hybrid infrastructure: on-prem servers + cloud-based applications
