About the Role
Reporting to the Assistant Director, this role focuses on financial governance, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting with regular engagement across the business to support sound financial decision-making. The position will be for 12 months to cover maternity leave, with potential to extend.
Key Duties
* Prepare monthly financial reports, including year-to-date and full-year financials, variance analysis, and commentary
* Meet regularly with budget holders to provide financial updates and guidance against budget
* Develop and maintain forecasts through to the end of financial year
* Support the annual Budget process and Mid-Year Review updates
* Provide ad-hoc financial support, including journals, accruals, corrections, project reporting, and responding to financial queries
About You
* Demonstrated experience in management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
* Strong Excel skills and experience using financial systems
* Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
* Confident engaging with stakeholders, including senior leaders
* Sound knowledge of the Australian Government financial framework
* Accounting diploma or degree (highly desirable)
* CPA or CA qualification, or working towards one (advantageous but not essential)
