West Gippsland Healthcare Group is seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Allied Health Assistants to join our dynamic team. This is your opportunity to be part of a supportive environment delivering vital therapy services to clients across our hospital, rehabilitation, community, and aged care settings.

In this diverse role, you'll work closely with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, and Dietitians to help implement tailored therapy programs that support recovery and improve quality of life. Whether it’s assisting with individual sessions, running group activities, visiting clients at home, or helping manage therapy equipment and resources, your day-to-day will be varied and meaningful.

We’re looking for someone with a sound understanding of rehabilitative care, excellent communication skills, and a strong sense of empathy. You’ll need to be organised, adaptable, and confident working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Computer literacy and a proactive attitude are also key.

Previous experience as an Allied Health Assistant or a Certificate III/IV in Allied Health Assistance will be highly regarded, but most importantly, we’re after someone with a genuine desire to help others.

We have up to 112 hours per fortnight available, which includes permanent part-time, fixed term part-time (secondment backfill) and casual positions. Casuals are employed on an ‘as needs’ basis to backfill leave and extra shifts on days, nights and weekends. Casual positions do not include regular hours. Flexible scheduling can be discussed to suit your lifestyle, study commitments, or other responsibilities. Let us know what works for you—we’re happy to accommodate the right candidate.

Our preferred candidate will have:

- Qualification – Cert III or IV Allied Health Assistance or equivalent.

- Previous experience in the provision of AHA services or similar.

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

- Well-developed organisational and time management skills.

- Basic computer literacy and familiarity Microsoft Office software.

IMPORTANT: Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) may be required prior to commencement.

All employees must hold current entitlement to work within Australia. A six month probationary period applies to all new appointments.
