Job Description:
The ideal candidate will oversee the delivery, integration, and sustainment of secure ICT systems in support of Australian Defence Force mission planning capability. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing both the technical direction and day-to-day operations of network and server environments across fixed and deployed Defence contexts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and mentor a team of technicians in the development, integration, and sustainment of software, hardware, data, tools, and processes for ADF mission planning systems
* Conduct performance reviews, set team objectives, and foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture
* Oversee the maintenance of physical server and networking hardware, ensuring high availability and performance
* Manage the development and maintenance of system configurations for MPS laptops and servers
* Coordinate the installation, configuration, testing, and deployment of software and security updates
* Provide technical leadership for resolving data support issues and ensuring mission systems meet operational requirements
* Support Defence strategic networks, ensuring compliance with security and accreditation standards
* Identify, manage, and mitigate program and technical risks within the operations scope
* Review, verify, and enhance documentation for MPS development and sustainment
* Ensure project deliverables are met on time and within scope
Required Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have experience in Defence ICT environments, including Defence Protected Environment (DPE) and Defence Secret Environment (DSE). They should have technical/admin level experience with client operating systems from MS Windows 10-11, MS Windows Server Platforms, and MS Windows Office products. Additionally, they should have experience with software scripting, Defence ICT Security Accreditation requirements, and Layer 2/3 Networking.
