Mackellar is one of Australia's largest privately owned mining equipment & service providers in Mining and Civil Earthmoving and we're hiring a fulltime HR professional to join our team at our exciting open cut operation, Carmichael mine site in Qld.
This role reports to the HR Superintendent and is FIFO from Townsville or Rockhampton working a 5/2/4/3 roster.
What you'll be doing:
* Provide on-site HR advice and support on ER/IR matters including performance, grievances, misconduct, investigations, and disciplinary processes.
* Draft and review employment-related documents (e.g., warnings, show cause, investigation outcomes, terminations) in line with legal and company standards.
* Coach supervisors on best practice ER/IR, award/EBA interpretation, and people management.
* Assist with return-to-work, fitness-for-duty, and absenteeism processes, ensuring compliance and early intervention where needed in collaboration with our Health team.
* Reconcile flight discrepancies and resolve disputes in coordination with site admin, travel, and payroll teams.
* Promote a culture of fairness, safety, and accountability across site teams.
* Collaborate with the HR Superintendent and escalate issues to head office HR/Legal as appropriate.
You're a good fit with this role if you have:
* Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
* Minimum 5 years' HR/ER/IR experience in heavy industry, mining, construction or civil infrastructure.
* Have a strong customer centric focus, with the ability to provide support and advice to internal customers at all levels across the site
* Have the ability to conduct workplace investigations and overseeing end-to-end disciplinary processes
* Focus on developing and fostering a culture of teamwork and employee involvement
