NSW Fair Trading is seeking a dynamic and experienced executive to lead the uplift of its consumer protection function.
As our new Executive Director, Consumer Affairs, you'll bring energy, vision, and decisive leadership to a newly restructured space.
Reporting directly to the NSW Fair Trading Commissioner, you'll help shape the future of consumer regulation in NSW—building high-performing teams, driving strategic projects, and ensuring NSW leads the nation in safeguarding consumers.From tackling scams and fraudulent traders to improving product safety (such as lithium-ion batteries in e-bikes), your work will directly impact the lives of millions.Key Focus AreasStrategic Reform: Establish and uplift the consumer protection branch with a clear mandate for excellencePublic Advocacy: Represent Fair Trading in media and forums, building its public profile and trustTeam & Culture Building: Shape a newly structured division, fostering a culture of integrity and impactRegulatory Leadership: Take strong, decisive action against non-compliant traders and drive enforcementCollaborative Engagement: Work closely with the ACCC and other regulators to set national benchmarksThe Leader We're SeekingYou're a seasoned executive with a strong background in consumer protection, regulation, or advocacy.
