The Finance Director is a key executive leadership role responsible for the overall financial strategy, governance, and performance of the organisation. Working closely with the senior management team, you will provide strategic financial leadership, ensure robust financial controls and compliance with Australian regulatory requirements, drive profitability and sustainable growth, and support informed business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute financial strategy aligned with business goals, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and capital allocation.
* Oversee accurate, timely financial reporting, statutory accounts, management reporting, and compliance with Australian regulations.
* Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and commercial insights to support executive and Board decisions.
* Drive process optimisation and automation across finance operations (e.g. ERP enhancements, workflow streamlining, efficiency gains).
* Lead change management initiatives for finance transformation projects, system implementations, and cultural/process shifts.
* Implement robust internal controls, risk management, and governance frameworks.
* Manage treasury, working capital, funding, and external relationships (auditors, banks, advisors).
* Build, lead, and develop a high-performing finance team.
* Act as key executive contributor to strategy, M&A, pricing, and performance improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
* 10+ years progressive finance experience, with 5+ years in people leadership positions
* Experience working in Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics industry, familiarity of Cargowise system
* Proven track record in process optimisation, system implementation, and change management in finance functions.
* Strong commercial acumen and Australian regulatory knowledge.
* Experience leading teams in dynamic/commercial environments.
