Team:
The Emergency Preparedness and Response team supports Hospitals South to strengthen emergency readiness across clinical services. The team works closely with service leadership, multidisciplinary teams, operational stakeholders and external agencies to improve preparedness, coordinate response arrangements, and support safe, effective care during emergencies and major incidents.
Role:
This is a unique opportunity to shape emergency preparedness across Hospitals South and make a real system‐wide impact on patient safety, workforce readiness and service resilience. The role offers variety, professional autonomy and the chance to work with senior leaders, multidisciplinary teams and external emergency partners to strengthen how services prepare for and respond to emergencies and major incidents.
As the Clinical Nurse Consultant, Emergency Preparedness and Response, you will help drive planning, training, exercises, reviews and continuous improvement activities that strengthen preparedness and support safe, effective emergency response.
Qualifications:
* Demonstrated senior clinical expertise and professional leadership as a Registered Nurse, with experience providing high‐level clinical consultation, advice and education related to emergency preparedness, response or complex clinical risk environments.
* Proven ability to contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of emergency preparedness and response policies, plans, procedures, exercises or quality improvement initiatives within a healthcare setting.
* Demonstrated experience supporting operational preparedness activities, including coordination of training, drills, exercises, audits, reviews or post‐incident evaluations in collaboration with clinical and operational stakeholders.
Appointment details:
Permanent, full‐time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours are to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
$118,297 to $125,543 per annum. Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.

Eligible candidates:
Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
