Expression of Interest – Graduate Diploma in Midwifery Program
We currently have an opportunity for further career development. Are you an RN who is seeking employment as a midwifery student at Northern Beaches Hospital? Our Graduate Diploma in Midwifery Program is now open for applications at Northern Beaches Hospital. This program will provide you with a supportive and caring environment in which to learn, develop and consolidate clinical skills in midwifery.
Graduate Diploma in Midwifery Program Includes:
* Experienced preceptors for initial and ongoing support
* A structured program across the continuum of maternal and newborn care
* Continuity of care experiences in line with university requirements
* Support from highly skilled staff
* Flexible rostering
* Purpose built onsite education centre with the latest technology for teaching, simulation and presentations
* Opportunity for permanent employment on completion of the program
Selection Criteria:
* Current Nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
* Registered Nurse with minimum 1 year full time experience in an acute care setting
* Concurrent Enrolment in a Diploma of Midwifery University program at UTS or WSU
* Ability to undertake Part Time employment of FTE 0.84, 8 and 12 hr shifts on a 7-day rotating roster
* Understanding the role of a midwife within a primary healthcare framework
* Demonstrated ability in clinical problem solving.
* Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
* Understanding of, and ability to work within a team

Applicants will be required to provide a current (12 months or less) National Police check and a NSW Working with Children's Check, prior to appointment and persons in patient contact roles will be required to provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases prior to commencement.
