Step into a pivotal role ensuring electrical safety, compliance, and quality in switchboard projects. We’re seeking an experienced and licensed Qualified Technical Person (QTP) to provide technical governance, compliance oversight, and assurance across electrical switchboard manufacturing and installation projects. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Brisbane, offering the opportunity to influence safety and compliance outcomes at the highest level.

With a strong reputation for compliance, safety, and technical excellence, they are looking for a QTP to ensure projects are delivered safely, legally, and right-first-time.

What will you be doing?
- Acting as the QTP nominee for the company’s Electrical Contractor Licence
- Ensuring compliance with the Electrical Safety Act (Qld), Regulations, and AS/NZS standards (incl. AS/NZS 3000 and 61439)
- Overseeing testing, verification, FAT/SAT, and authorising energisation sign-off
- Verifying licences, qualifications, and competencies of electricians, apprentices, and contractors
- Leading investigations, audits, and corrective actions for electrical safety incidents or non-conformances
- Providing technical support and governance to engineering, drafting, production, and project teams
- Maintaining accurate test records, registers, and compliance documentation
What do you need?
- Current Queensland Electrical Work Licence (Electrical Fitter/Mechanic)
- Eligibility to act as a QTP for an Electrical Contractor Licence
- 5+ years’ post-trade experience in switchboard, industrial, or manufacturing electrical environments
- Strong knowledge of Qld electrical safety legislation and AS/NZS standards (e.g. AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 61439)
- Proven competence in electrical testing, verification, and documentation
- High attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams while holding accountability for compliance
- Experience with ISO 9001/45001/14001 frameworks and client audits (desirable)
- Background in FAT/SAT and client witness testing (desirable)
