About the role: The Operational Services Officer – Veterinary Nurse provides essential support to lecturers, technicians and students, ensuring the smooth delivery of teaching and veterinary technical support services in the TAFESA PetsinTuition Veterinary Clinic and animal care facilities. Working under general direction, the role performs a variety of tasks that require the practical application of established skills and knowledge. The role requires professional interactions with others, along with a friendly, cooperative and team-oriented approach to shared responsibilities. We are looking for an experienced vet nurse that is interested in working in a veterinary clinic in an educational setting. You will be supporting educational staff in providing excellent student experiences and learning outcomes for the Veterinary Nursing and various Animal Studies programs. Working days are Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work required. 7.5 hours daily with a flexible approach to start and finish times (within negotiated periods) is expected.
Responsibilities
Provide essential support to lecturers, technicians and students to ensure the smooth delivery of teaching and veterinary technical support services in the TAFESA PetsinTuition Veterinary Clinic and animal care facilities.
Support educational staff in delivering excellent student experiences and learning outcomes for Veterinary Nursing and Animal Studies programs.
Engage in professional interactions with colleagues and students and maintain a friendly, cooperative, team-oriented approach to responsibilities.
Qualifications and experience
Experienced veterinary nurse (vet nurse) required; experience in a veterinary clinic within an educational setting preferred.
Strong customer service skills and ability to work effectively in a professional and dynamic environment.
Special Conditions
The successful applicant must demonstrate a valid DHS Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to employment. Applicants who do not hold a WWCC will need to apply at the Department of Human Services (DHS).
Some out of hours work will be required
Some intrastate travel may be required
May be required to work outside at times during inclement weather conditions
