Job Overview
As a Process Engineer at Visy Pulp and Paper, you will play a key role in supporting mill performance by optimising processes, improving efficiencies, and delivering cost‐saving initiatives across a complex 24/7 manufacturing setting. You will also take ownership of critical compliance activities—including environmental and audit readiness—helping to close gaps and build sustainable systems for the future.
Responsibilities:
* Monitor and optimise process performance, identifying trends, deviations, and improvement opportunities
* Lead cost‐reduction initiatives across chemicals, energy, and non‐production inputs
* Drive energy optimisation and support sustainability initiatives across the mill
* Lead root‐cause analysis (RCA) and implement solutions to improve reliability and efficiency
* Champion environmental and compliance activities, ensuring audit actions are delivered
* Develop and improve process documentation, systems, and performance‐reporting tools
Qualifications:
* Experience in process engineering within heavy industry (e.g., paper, mining, oil & gas, food manufacturing)
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving capability, with a data‐driven approach
* Experience with process control systems (DCS, SCADA, PLC) highly regarded
* Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously in a fast‐paced environment
* Exposure to compliance, environmental, or audit‐related activities
* Tertiary qualification in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or similar
