About the role
This is a permanent, full-time, Monday to Friday 7.00am to 4.00pm position working 38 hours per week. Located at the Ulladulla Depot. Duties
Reporting directly to the Team Supervisor – Southern Construction, the focus of this position is to:
4. Supervise and direct from 3 to 6 workers or contractors or combinations of these. In total between 3-6 and, if required, undertake any of the duties listed below:
5. Read, interpret, and implement plans.
6. Operate and maintain plant items such as excavators, graders, backhoes, water tankers and/or rollers etc.
7. Operate and maintain trucks up to and including those requiring an MR class driver’s licence.
8. Undertake manual tasks such as concreting, concrete finishing, shoveling, screeding, raking, digging, lifting and traffic control.
9. Operate and maintain small plant items such as chainsaws, plate compactors, jack picks, concrete saws, electric power tools, vegetation trimmers, etc. Complete standard paperwork such as timesheets, WHS etc.
10. Deliver quality workmanship in all tasks.
11. Use Council’s authorised recordkeeping system(s) to create, receive and capture corporate records relevant to the responsibilities of the position in accordance with Council’s Records Management Policy.
Skills & Experience
In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:
12. School Certificate or equivalent.
13. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in multi-discipline civil engineering maintenance and/or construction works relating to roads, drainage, kerb and gutter, cycleways, parking areas, roadside structures, wharves, jetties, boat ramps and bridges.
14. Minimum NSW Class MR driver’s licence or equivalent licence valid in NSW.
15. Current NSW General Construction Induction card (white card) or acceptable interstate alternative.
16. NSW ‘Traffic Controller’, ‘Implement Traffic Control Plans’ and ‘Prepare Work
17. Zone Traffic Management Plan’ licences or willingness to obtain.
18. Proof of Australian residency or citizenship.
