The Operations Supervisor role is a critical position in our organization, responsible for overseeing the safe and compliant delivery of traffic management services.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as an Operations Supervisor. In this role, you will work closely with our Albany Branch Manager to ensure the smooth delivery of traffic control services, effective daily planning, and compliance with safety and client expectations.
Key responsibilities include:
* Overseeing and supervising the safe and compliant delivery of traffic management services
* Providing clear direction and guidance to traffic controllers in relation to safe work practices that align with company policies and procedures, legislative obligations, and industry best practice
* Conducting site audits and promoting a strong safety and compliance culture
* Driving day-to-day traffic management operations and ensuring optimized operational service delivery and workforce allocation
* Delivering operational KPIs and targets
* Client, contractor, and local authority engagement and business development
* Assisting with recruitment processes, including interviewing candidates
* Overseeing the onboarding process to ensure new hires are effectively integrated
* Coaching, mentoring, and training all team members
* Fostering a strong solution-oriented, transparent, accountable, and safety-focused culture
* Developing and implementing operational strategies and procedures
* Ensuring operational compliance with safety regulations and contractual requirements
* Troubleshooting and resolving operational issues, ensuring minimal disruption to works
* Reporting to and advising the Branch Manager
This role requires a strong leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a thorough understanding of how to build and maintain a positive and solution-oriented team culture.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A minimum of 2 years' demonstrated success in an Operational Supervisor role in a medium organization (preferably Traffic Management)
* Strong engaging and well-communicated leadership combined with strong people management skills and a thorough understanding of how to build and maintain a positive and solution-oriented team culture
* The ability to build trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization
* A high level of organizational skills with the ability to self-manage time and work under pressure to meet deadlines
* The ability to achieve meaningful daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs
* The ability to think analytically and develop effective strategies
* A strong focus on safety and compliance
* Intermediate to advanced computing skills and experience in the use of MS Office and web-based software
* Good knowledge of Work Health & Safety regulations
* A strong understanding of Traffic Management regulations (preferred)
