Overview
Position: Advanced RANZCOG trainee (Level 5 & 6), 12-month position commencing 1 February. Royal Darwin Hospital (RDH) is part of the Top End Health Service (TEHS).
The maternity service has a large catchment area across the Northern Territory providing tertiary level care and supporting rural birthing units in Gove and Katherine, as well as midwives, nurses and GPs throughout the Northern Territory's remote communities.
Responsibilities
* Deliver care across obstetrics and gynaecology with opportunities for operative gynaecology and high-risk obstetrics as a senior registrar.
* Engage in outreach clinics delivering care including colposcopy, ultrasound and simple procedures in remote communities to understand the challenges of safe, culturally appropriate women's health care in the Top End.
* Contribute to clinics and services including maternal fetal medicine presentations, gynaecology oncology, vulval disorders, urodynamics/pelvic floor surgery, pregnancy choices and a hospital-supported homebirth program.
* Teach and mentor junior registrars and GP trainees; participate in weekly education programs and quality and safety activities.
* Collaborate with affiliated institutions and opportunities for teaching and research through Charles Darwin University and the Menzies Research Institute; engage with Pacific Island health communities for those interested in Global Health.
Qualifications
* Advanced RANZCOG trainee (Level 5 & 6).
* Strong interest in generalist O&G training with exposure to dedicated clinics and high-risk obstetrics.
