Are you passionate about payroll compliance, systems, and process improvement? Hungry Jack's is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Compliance Officer to support and ensure the compliance of large workforce. This role will work closely with the Payroll Compliance Lead, Payroll Team Lead, National Payroll & Systems Manager, and broader stakeholders across the business to ensure our payroll systems and practices remain accurate, up-to-date, and fully compliant with legislative requirements.
Responsibilities
* Provide support to the payroll team in end-to-end processing, ensuring accurate and timely payroll delivery.
* Ensure compliance with Payroll Tax, PAYG, Superannuation, and Workers Compensation requirements.
* Audit payroll processes to identify and correct compliance issues.
* Maintain up-to-date payroll procedures and documentation.
* Support system enhancements, legislation updates, and configuration changes.
* Identify knowledge gaps and upskill team members accordingly.
* Work cross-functionally with Finance, IT, and People & Culture to optimize payroll systems and processes.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the payroll function.
* Deliver timely, accurate reports for Operations and Executive teams, including labour costing and compliance data.
* Assist with ABS surveys, WGEA reporting, and end-of-month/year processes.
* Provide data analysis and insights that support strategic business decisions.
Essential Experience & Skills
* 3+ years' experience in a high-volume, complex payroll environment.
* Proficiency with Preceda payroll software.
* Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables and formulas).
* Solid understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
* Advanced Excel skills and experience with Crystal Reports (desirable).
* Payroll qualification (certificate or diploma) is highly regarded (desirable).
