Job Description:
The role of Defence Business Director presents a unique opportunity to spearhead strategic growth in the Defence Market, with a focus on Canberra. As a key leader, you will be responsible for advancing Beca's local presence in the Defence sector, aligning with our broader strategy to expand our impact in Australia.
This leadership position involves driving and executing strategic initiatives, fostering client relationships, developing business development strategies, overseeing financial performance, and growing a team of professionals. You will also serve as the Branch Manager for the Canberra office, managing day-to-day operations, stakeholder liaison, community engagement, and commercial management.
Key responsibilities include:
* Strategic Leadership: Reporting to the General Manager, drive and execute strategic initiatives ensuring alignment with Beca's overarching goals and objectives.
* Client Management: Foster and maintain relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and identifying opportunities for growth and expansion.
* Market Development: Develop and implement business development strategies to expand market presence in the ACT, including identifying new business opportunities and securing new contracts.
* Financial Management: Oversee the financial performance of the business unit, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to meet revenue and profit targets.
* Developing our Team: Grow a team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture while ensuring the development and retention of key talent.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
A well-established background within the Defence and National Security market is required, with a preference for demonstrated experience in growing a Defence portfolio in a consulting or contracting environment with a focus on 'above-the-line' services. Experience of managing key client accounts in the Water Market will be highly regarded but not essential.
An excellent networker, influencer, team player, and facilitator who enjoys working with a diverse team, you will work to create a level of consistency locally among our leaders to support the delivery of the NSW and ACT plans and key initiatives.
