Responsibilities
* Serve as the conduit between maternity services and the community within the northern sector of Hunter New England's Local Health District (LHD).
* Connect vulnerable women to pregnancy care providers and oversee maternal transfers within the district.
* Engage with women who find it difficult to connect with maternity services.
* Lead with strong communication and problem-solving skills while showing compassion for vulnerable women and the complexities of pregnancy care.
* Collaborate with a small, diverse team of maternity experts to oversee safety and quality of maternity services across the district.
* Participate in regular huddle meetings, planning days, and support from the WHAM Network Coordinator and Midwifery Advisor.
* Work with Newcastle-based colleagues and other coordinators across the state; participate in Monthly Accountability Meetings (MAMs), 90-day action plans, and rounding activities.
Qualifications
* Current registration as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA.
* Minimum of three (3) years full-time equivalent post midwifery qualification experience.
